Botanicals

Three bespoke cocktails have been developed for Darnley’s View by world-renowned mixologist Jason Scott, owner of the award-winning Edinburgh bars Bramble and The Last Word Saloon. The cocktails aim to bring out the natural flavours of the key botanicals in Darnley’s View, especially the citrus and elderflower.




The Lord Darnley

The Lord Darnley

Ingredients

50 ml Darnley’s View
dash Elderflower Cordial
dash Fevertree Tonic Water
dash Limoncello
dash Angostura Bitters

Glass

Champagne Saucer

 

Method

In a mixing glass filled with cubed ice, add the Elderflower, Tonic, Limoncello and Bitters coating the ice. Stir and drain off any excess liquid. Add the Gin and stir until well chilled and suitably diluted. Double strain into glass straight up.

Darnley's Delight

Darnley’s Delight

Ingredients

50 ml Darnley’s View
50 ml Pineapple Juice
12.5 ml Noilly Prat Dry Vermouth
dash Gomme
Angostura Bitters
dash pasteurised egg white

Glass

Sherry Goblet

 

Method

Pour all ingredients into a shaker over ice and shake rapidly. Double strain into glass.

Garnish

3 drops Angostura Bitters





Lemon & Darnley’s

Lemon & Darnley’s

Ingredients

50 ml Darnley’s View
12.5 ml Lemon Juice
12.5 ml Elderflower Cordial
Dash Gomme Syrup
Bitter Lemon

Glass

Sling

 

Method

Place all ingredients (except bitter lemon) into a shaker and fill with ice. Shake vigorously. Single strain into glass over cubed ice and charge with bitter lemon.
